JAMES
TAPSTER
STOTT PILATES + PERSONAL TRAINING
After completing my first Degree in Sport and Exercise Science
at Leeds Carnegie (2001), I was lucky enough not to only represent
England under 21s at Rugby Union but I was chosen to represent
the full England Sevens Team in the 2001/2002 World Sevens Series.
During the years after my first degree, while playing professional
rugby union, I went back to studying, completing post grads (Adv.
Dip, Ma. Dip, I.T.E.C., CIBTAC) in a number of areas including
Sports & Clinical Massage and Rehabilitation as well as studying
advanced fitness and strength conditioning. The experience I got
through both my studies but also playing high level professional
sport gave me the knowledge in theory and practice in a wide variety
of training methods and unusual yet highly effective techniques
and scientific principals.
I have been fortunate to work with a massive array
of different individuals, groups and teams both in the training/conditioning
and rehabilitation arena. Over the past 8 years I have worked
with Leeds United (premiership seasons) Football Club, Castleford
Tigers Super league RL Club, Yorkshire Cricket Club, and members
of the Yorkshire Riding Centre. I am lucky enough to have worked
closely with a number of international athletes including England
Cricket captain Michael Vaughan, Cricket legend Darren Gough,
International and Olympic event riders as well as some of the
England Woman’s football team. My links with the pro rugby
circuit are still strong and I still work closely with a number
of professional and international players.
Having worked alongside my business Partner, Senior
Physiotherapist Wayne Morton for five years now this gives me
a unique link with the medical world as well as constantly keeping
up with fitness and rehabilitation developments and practices.
Combining this experience and expertise, while also training and
treating all aspects from the general public has given me a sound
knowledge of training and conditioning as well as rehabilitation.
After completing my STOTT Pilates certifications
in California in 2006 gaining the highest grades possible, I feel
I can truly cater for everyone regardless of their different goals
and motivations in the health and fitness World.
I
look to push my clients getting them out of their comfort zones
of training and conditioning. Both myself and my clients want
quick, effective results and my training methods with all reflect
this ethos. What ever you want out of your training or fitness
goals, if you put in the effort and time you will without doubt
meet your goals and requirements in having the fitness and body
shape you desire.

practitioner’s world wide. This effective mind body approach
to exercise will produce optimal musculoskeletal performance improving:
strength, flexibility, endurance and posture while creating a

James trained and became certified in the STOTT PILATES method
in California at one of the top institutions in the World, achieving
one of the highest grades possible internationally.
Group teaching and one and one sessions available. Also providing
personal training for your individual fitness and performance
needs.
