Libby Hancocks - Clinical Massage
Libby Hancocks has recently joined the team at Pure Treatment Rooms as a clinical therapist.
- Diploma in Clinical Sport & Remedial Massage from the London School of Sports Massage
- Full membership of the Institute of Sport & Remedial Massage
- Registered member of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council
Libby has a particular interest in ‘massage for maintenance’ and believes a lot can be done to address postural and occupational related conditions as well as sports related injuries and conditions. Conditions like tight neck and shoulders and lower back pain (often caused by bad posture or occupation) respond well to massage. Libby also treats people with specific sports injuries such as calf injuries, hamstring/biceps problems and helps with post-operative rehabilitation (e.g. following a knee replacement).
The type of massage Libby does aims to rehabilitate her clients and help them to remain fit, healthy and mobile for longer and she encourages client self-awareness in terms of their own body and health. Clients will experience deep remedial work and other techniques such as soft tissue release and muscle energy techniques that involve passive and active stretching of key muscles in the body.
