Clinical / Medical Treatments
Physiotherapy, or Physical Therapy, is a HealthCare profession concerned with the assessment, maintenance, and restoration of the physical function and performance of the body. Physiotherapists treat a wide variety of injuries and problems using many different techniques. In many cases, the causes of pain and dysfunction are obvious, but sometimes things are not so black and white, especially when symptoms are inconsistent or difficult to describe.
Osteopathy is an established and recognised way of detecting and treating problems with muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints to help alleviate symptoms arising from the musculo skeletal system. Trained Osteopaths recognise that much of the pain and disability we suffer stems from abnormalities in our body’s structure and function, as well as damage from disease.
Colonic Hydrotherapy/irrigation is a great treatment for detoxing identifying digestive problems and addressing them. Digestion starts in the mouth and by cleansing the large Colon, it enables an assessment of digestion and absorption of nutrients, or interference from bacteria, parasites, viruses etc. A consultation with explanation of the treatments is always discussed beforehand.
Sports & Clinical Massage is the scientific manipulation and assessments of soft tissue for…· Maintaining good health and physical condition.· Normalising and improving muscle tone.· Reducing the effects caused by stress.· Promoting Relaxation· Stimulating Circulation. There are many problems that can be helped using Sports & Remedial Massage. Clinical massage is a type of massage that focuses on Fascia or Connective tissue, which is where injuries to muscle tend to show up first. Fascia is the complex soft tissue webbing which holds us all together. It is normally a very thin, moist layer of connective tissue which is wrapped around muscles, around individual muscle fibres allowing them to slide over one another. When muscle tissue is over stretched, the fascia that binds or connects them will also be overstretched and will tear. This will create scar tissue which can bind the fascia to adjacent structures.
Clinical Hypnotherapy is a safe and completely natural way of achieving life changes both small and large. It involves the use of hypnosis for the treatment and relief of a variety of medical and psychological symptoms in a clinical setting. It is accepted as being beneficial for many conditions including unwanted habits, anxiety related issues such as fears and phobias, confidence issues, performance enhancement, stress management, eating disorders, weight control and pain control in addition to general relaxation and wellbeing.
Traditional Chinese and Five-Element Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a traditional medicine which has been used in the East for thousands of years to restore, promote and maintain good health. Taking a holistic approach, acupuncture regards illness as a sign that the body is out of balance, the exact pattern and degree of imbalance being unique to each individual. By inserting fine needles into the meridians beneath the skin, acupuncture stimulates the body's own healing response. Acupuncture can be effective treatment for many conditions, including gastro-intestinal, skin, respiratory and musculo-skeletal – in May 2009 NICE recommended acupuncture for back pain relief. Acupuncture and Acupressure Massage are also very effective treatments for depression.
Ozone/Oxidation Therapy
Ozone therapy (otherwise known as oxidation therapy) restores, enhances, and maintains health and well-being. The treatment involves application of energised oxygen (ozone) either topically through the use of a sauna or systemically through rectal, vaginal, or aural application, depending upon individual client requirements. Ozone therapy optimises cell function by activating enzyme reactions at a cellular level.
