Alison Fletcher - Traditional Chinese acupuncturist with a special interest in male and female fertility
Alison is trained in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture which supports the Qi, blood and body fluids within our meridians and is thought to help release energy and rebalance the body. Eastern cultures have used acupuncture for thousands of years as a preventative medicine and to support male and female reproductive health in general. It is also used to help with specific gynaecological concerns such as endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, pelvic inflammation, uterine fibroids and PCOS.
Acupuncture, either as an adjunct to Western medicine or on its own, is becoming increasingly popular in the UK and there is a growing body of scientific research into its uses. As an affiliate of the Zita West National Reproductive Network, Alison works with couples to support fertility by stimulating the reproductive organs and helping to restore emotional balance, since both hormonal imbalances and stress are thought to be frequent contributors to fertility problems. There have been a number of studies investigating acupuncture's ability to modulate male fertility parameters, as well as one which reported significant improvements in total sperm count, concentration and motility.
Acupuncture may be given safely throughout pregnancy and as post-natal support.
Alison welcomes clients seeking help with not only fertility issues, but also many other health concerns for which acupuncture can offer wonderful drug-free relief.
Nutrition in terms of traditional Chinese food energetics and lifestyle advice is also available.
